Sneaky peek

I caught up with this gorgeous family about two weeks ago and it was a real family event in every sense of the word. We had brothers, sisters, partners and even grandma and grandpa turned up for the fun of it. It was a very dull and dreary day weather-wise but we had fun anyway, here are a few sneak.

The school holidays have made it very hard to get through all the work i have backed up, but only a few more sleeps until koby is back at school. Charlee is fine on her own but when she pairs up with Koby and they egg each other on all hell breaks loose and it is impossible to concentrate on anything but the noise...

where do you take the kids for a holiday in the middle of winter??

why to the beach of course..the very same beach we take them in the summer...they don't seem to notice the bitter cold as much as we do and seem to get a kick out of it so why not.

We only actually got down to the beach twice, both times there was a king tide (where the water is really close to the shore) so they didn't even have much of a beach to play on but they don't care...

These were all taken with my Pentax point and shoot digital camera because the weather was a bit too extreme for me to take the other DSLR's down...

Six more sleeps till school goes back
Ten more sleeps until the Scraptacular Retreat
Wahoo to both!

Today we.....

...spent the day in the city.

My mum rudely woke me at 8:59am this morning (doesn't she realize i don't get out of bed until after 10am on school holidays) and announced that her and my cousin were going to spend the day in the city, and wanted to know if i wanted to bring the kids. So i rugged them up and headed out. First we went to the aquarium. It was quite good, but VERY busy (you'd think it was school holidays or something).

I'll admit that aquarium photography isn't my forte LOL...especally for someone who is very anti-flash..besides not wanting to use it you're kinda damned if you do anyway because it will just bounce right back at you off all the glass anyway... at least you can make out the silhouettes in the last one to prove my children were actually there...

We then had lunch at Crown Casino and came across an old carousel (we should have just gone to the city for the TTD session kelly....a perfect non-cheesy carousel with no glass building or $5 entry fee PMSL).. the kids had a ride..they both take after their dad though and refused to actually sit on the horses, the only way i could get them on was to get them to sit in the boring old carriage..who goes on a carousel to sit in the carriage i mean seriously guys...

We tried to go up on top of the Eureka tower to the observation deck but promptly turned around and walked out again when we realized it would cost us nearly $50 to pay the admition...seriously..fifty-stinkin-bucks to ride up and elevator and look out a window. Couldn't believe it...the kids were not happy but there was no way we were gonna fork out that much...what a rip-off...

so instead we hopped back on the train and headed home again.

do you think they look cold? LOL It was just a wee bit brisk out there today i must admit. Anyway that was what we did today, we have decided to head down to Venus bay on Sunday night until Tuesday so i have a heap of things i need to do before then (including two more photo sessions)...so if you don't hear from me until next week then that's why

xx

working hard

...which is why ive been MIA. Trying to get all my business stuff tied up ready for tax time. Also been doing a lot of shoots lately and feeling a little snowed under.

My poor blog is being neglected as a result. But here is a pretty picture from a Trash the Dress session i did to fill up some empty space, will be back next week to share some more stuff.

If you are interested in having a free TTD session then let me know, myself and a few fellow photographers are keen to do a few more of these for a bit of fun and will welcome any willing models and dresses with open arms LOL...

pfhew....

just a quick run down because i'm buggered

- the rain held off...just
- the treasure hunt went off without a hitch
- there were no tears or tantrums
- everyone ate a lot
- koby had a fantastic time
- there was minimal mess to clean up afterwards which was surprising

I didn't take as many photos as i thought i did and wish i had taken a few more but i was having too much fun watching the kids run around. We did get the whole event on Video though so that makes up for it.
Here are a few quick snaps though, i'm off to bed *yawn*

one more sleep....

...until my house is trashed by 15 kids. Koby is absolutly buzzing with excitement and Charlee even more so. Everything is planned but like always there is nothing to do until the morning because there is no point setting everything up until then. We have gone with a pirate theme for Koby's birthday party this year and have invested in eye patches for all and also organized a treasure hunt. Should be a hit...that is if it doesn't rain of course LOL....

Anyway i'm off to bed soon, but thought i'd show off some more client shots. These were taken at the Botanical Gardens the other week, glorious day and i adore all the autumn leaves everywhere.

My lovely parents brought me a sparkly new vacuum for my birthday today (i turn 27 on sunday arrrrhhh!! i'm so old!! when did that happen?). I even got to go pick one out. It is some fancy super suction thing that is 1000x better than my old one (that has been held together with packing tape for the past 12 months)....so i have been happily vacuuming away in domestic bliss all afternoon...it's nice to be able to go over an area only once and have it dust/crumb/fluff and fuzz free...genius...

I also received a glorious RAK from the lovely Ingrid this week, you can have a look at what she sent on her blog here because I'm too lazy and old to take a photo of it right now... Yes that vintage pattern book is a fabulious as you all think...

ok seriously..bed time now..

Stuff i've been doing

Thought I'd come in and show the cardigan I've been knitting for charlee. It is another vintage pattern, this time i am actually following the pattern's directions and using 4ply wool, i don't usually knit with wool that is so thin and it is taking more painfully long than normal LOL.. I'm a slow knitter with 8ply...half the thickness of the wool and you double the knitting time....

02

It is knitting up to be about 2 sizes to large but i guess that is better than being small...at least she will grow into it at some stage.

I have also picked up a few pretty fabrics from local op shops over the past week or two. The first two are single bed sheets, and the last one is a double. Loving the green one the most, which i actually picked up today, but i always have a thing for green...

01

They were $2, $3 and $4 in order of appearance from left to right...bargain.

And here are some sneak peeks from another client i had about two weeks ago. These guys were gorgeous and had a blast running around out in the open. The rain was nice enough to hold off for us as well.

Tag

I've been tagged by a few people this week, two of them were with the same one which was convenient LOL

Here are the rules!
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others you like and tell why.
3. Tag 5 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. 500 Miles by The Pretenders - cmon people...it's got a catchy beat and chorus...
2. Tainted Love by...um...no idea - again gotta love the beat and catchy lyrics
3. Piece of me by Brittany Spears - i know i know, generally speaking miss Brittany is kinda tragic, but seriously the lyrics to that song are really clever and kinda hilarious if you have never listened to it before.
4. Love...thy will be done by Martika - it's an 80's thing LOL
5.Will you be there by Michael Jackson - i like the whole choir singing bit/african vibe it has going on...it's also very deep.

ok so i tag Rach, Felicity, Jodi, Amanda, and Cat

back tomorrow with some more client photos to show off. Our house is in full party mode with my birthday on Sunday and Kobys party on Saturday....

More cute kidlets

These ones belong to a fellow scrapping addict Sharon, the weather on this day was a bit dreary but that didn't stop us, and the kids were as hilarious as they were cute (especally little Miss Jemima). They reminded me so much of my own kids that it was frightening....

Luke starts two weeks of holidays tomorrow so I'm not sure how much i will be around for the next fortnight. He has demanded that i provide him with a constant stream of outings and entertainment (pffftt) so i can tell right now that my net time will be greatly reduced LOL....

wish me luck...
