Tag, you're it

I have done this particular tag before but not for a while so i thought i'd have a go while the kettle was boiling,

I have been tagged by Cassandra, whom is a delightful Sydney photographer friend of mine.

The rules are:
- Link the person who tagged you
- Mention the rules on your blog
- Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
- Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them
- Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers blogs letting them know they have been tagged. (i SO won't get around to doing that part PMSL)

Here we go:

1. I can't stop thinking about having another baby...i want one..now...right now...six months ago...one more month before we can officially have "the talk".

2. I often drink my coffee cold. I don't like hot hot coffee...when i make it i always add lots of milk to cool it down and it usually sits next to me for a good 15 min before i drink it.

3. I am a tracky-dack kinda girl. Luke hates it, he is very image conscious and wouldn't dream of walking to the letterbox in his trackies let alone around a shopping center like i do. I've just lost all pride in myself i guess, and comfort has well overtaken my fashion sense LOL

4. I don't like calling people on the phone. Answering calls i can do, but i always get really nervous when i have to call someone. Doesn't matter who it is. I am getting better at this now i am dealing with clients, but i still have to psych myself up to make a call...i don't know what i'm so worried about.

5. Back on the telephone thing i always have to wait for three rings before i pick up...even if i am sitting right next to the phone (which i usually am because it's on my computer desk). I guess i don't want people to think i just hang around the phone waiting for it to call LOL...so i make them wait three rings...if it takes more than three rings for me to answer then i am genuinely not near the phone at the time.

6. I talk to myself. A lot. In the car especally...i even make myself laugh sometimes.

I now tag the following people:

Dannii Best
Lisa Barnes
Felicity M (i'm not even gonna attempt to spell your last name this early in the morning lovely LOL)
Jesse Broome
Amanda Hall
Donna Wild

If you have already done this recently then i won't be offended if you don't do it again this time.

autumn

01p

Finally it's beginning to feel like autumn. We have had such a string of hot days that it's more like the middle of summer, but now the nights are cooling down and, for this week anyway, the weather seems to be more autumn-ish instead of summery. And to prove it, the leaves on the trees are beginning to fall off and turn yellow... see?

I have started knitting a bolero for charlee, I'm making it from a vintage pattern meant for a 3 month old, but i have managed to resize it to fit missy by using a thicker weight wool. So far so good, but i am beginning to worry that i might not have enough of the wool to finish it. It is hand dyed wool and i only had one ball and the store isn't selling this color anymore so after all my hard work i may end up having to pull it apart anyway, but here is what i have done so far. Since taking these photos the other day i have now almost finished the other front half...

We spent this morning with Dannii and her girls just chatting and mucking around, i know Dannii will be stalking this blog all afternoon so here are a few shots for her LOL (i was playing around with some different processing techniques with some of these which is why they are a little...um... different)

Girls day out

I had a great day today hanging out with my mate Cass and her poppet Harriet. Me and Charlee spend the morning with them just chattin and playin. It took a few U-Turns for me to find the house (i'm not good with city driving LOL) but we got there eventually and after a good hour of shyness Charlee eventually came around enough to at least play next to Harry without too much hassle.

Things have been a bit calmer around here the past two days. I've been giving myself a break with everything and just spending time doing absolutely nothing. I even managed to do some scrapping this afternoon. I can't show any of it because it's design team stuff, but it was nice to get my stuff out and just muck around.

I have booked myself into the Scraptacular Retreat in July, i am SO looking forward to it. A whole weekend of scrapping, chatting, drinking and no kids LOL.  And a bunch of "the scrap girls" are coming from various states to stay as well which makes it so much more exciting.

I'm all ready to go for Sydney now. I have looked up where i am staying, and Cass has even promised me a lift on the first morning to the gardens (she is my first session of the  weekend) and i am feeling a lot calmer about the whole thing now. And i'm actually really looking forward to it.

anyway i'll leave you now with some shots from my last session

Been doin' stuff...

...lots of stuff. On Saturday i had a photo session with a lovely family in Kew. They had two gorgeous girls who both had exactly the same smile LOL...

Then on Sunday we met up with some friends at the Botanical Gardens. It was a stinkin hot day, but we still had a good time. The kids had a ball, i actually didn't take that many photos for a change, but here are a few.

then this morning i had a quick maternity session which i haven't even looked at yet, and i also caught up with Danielle, Kelly and Dannii.
Took a couple of photos but again not too many...too bloomin hot. The kids found a family of snails in the back yard and proceeded to harass the poor things until we distracted them with icy-poles LOL

(oh and the hats they are all wearing were made by www.perfectamity.com, Danielle was doing a product shoot for them using the numerous available children as models, even though the hats were knitted and it was a 34 degree day today LOL...you gotta do what you gotta do...)

Ok, i think that's enough photos for one day.

In other news i am in the process of updating and recreating my website, it's all very exciting let me just say. And i also booked and paid for my tickets to Sydney this morning...again, very exciting. I haven't done any scrapping in weeks even though i have a heap of new things to play with. I just haven't had the time.

Lukes grandmother also blessed me with a mighty big bag of vintage fabrics that she had cleaned out of her cupboards...oh my..heaven! I have had a quick sort through and the keeper pile was far bigger than the donate pile which is always a good thing. Lots of nice corduroy amongst the lot which will be great for some winter pants for Charlee.

The house looks like a troupe of monkeys has been living in it for a month so i REALLY need to get stuck into it. I was meant to catch up with another friend tomorrow but charlee is so exhausted from the last week of activities that i have decided to stay home (sorry Cass), so i might mark the day as a computer free day and do some serious cleaning...well ok...maybe just a computer free morning...i can't be expected to stay away for an entire day..i mean seriously...

ah to be young and carefree...

I am working on building up my portfolio of teenage-age people, and while my sister is a little over her teens (only just) i still used her and her man as guinea-pigs on the weekend. Neither of them are very partial to having their photos taken, so it was certainly a challenge but i managed to get a few good shots.

Update on operation ttc#3
Well we had "the chat" and things seem positive...i did have to face a few outright "not-a-hope-in-hell" comments but he eventually came around to "it's not completely out of the questions". Which was all the encouragement i needed LOL. We are gonna stew on it until about June and reassess the situation, but hopefully we should be doing the baby thing sometime around July-August.....that's unless i change my mind again sometime between now and then LOL

day 23: The Gardens

Day_23p

we met up with a friend of mine (Naomi) the other day at the Botanical Gardens. We got to hang out with her kids (and niece) and wander around taking photos. It was a lovely way to spend the day. Naomi was down from Broken Hill for a wedding. This is my two hanging out under a hug fig tree. Here's a few more shots...i didn't take that many photos surprisingly...too busy gas-bagging about lenses and RAW processing LOL.

Naomi's daughter Kobie (i think that's how you spell it???) chillin' with her new baby ducky.

lets play spot the baby LOL

And Naomi's niece Sophie...whom my kids ADORED...she did a wonderful job of occupying them with chasey and hide and seek while we were too busy chatting to supervise...ok that sounds horrible, we were watching too of course, except when we were busy comparing the 5D to the 40D...

and a few more of my two...koby was too busy hitting random things with sticks to stand still long enough for a decent shot though, so they are mostly you-know-who..

Me and Luke had a date last night, we went and saw Cloverfield. Fantastic movie...a few bits were a bit stoopid (um hello...it's about a giant monster attacking Manhattan...what's not stoopid about that???) and we both agreed that it needed a bit more explaining of certain parts, but it was made really well, it was actually pretty funny in some parts and well worth the trip to the movies.

Happy Birthday Chloe.

Our gorgeous little friend Chloe celebrated her 3rd birthday this afternoon. We had a short but sweet sausage sizzle at a local park. The rain held off for most of the day but decided it would fall on us just as we were getting ready to party. Oh well.. i don't think the birthday girl minded. Here are some happy snaps.

Happy birthday sweet pea.
I got a super busy weekend ahead, so i probably won't be back here to update until the middle of next week. Have a happy and safe weekend. xx

wow, that was fun....

ok after a week in bed i am finally over the worst of it. I feel much better today. Still taking antibiotics for another week though just to make sure the infection is completely gone.

Anyway, because i've been sick there isn't really much to talk about. However i did catch up with my pals Rach and Angela, and also my interstate buddies Cat and Amanda on Saturday. We all met up at the botanical gardens and it was a great morning. They are such a sweet bunch of women, i reckon i could sit and chat with them all for hours.
Here are some pics of all our girls. Amanda's youngest Piper, Charlee (of course) and Rach's daughter Bella. They are all about the same age and had a great time running around together. Ange even brought her new baby twins but they didn't do much except sleep LOL. I'm taking proper photos of them this weekend though, so i'll have plenty of them to show off later next week.

there are a whole heap more in a gallery over here if you want to see them.

PIL took the kids yesterday afternoon and they spent the whole night there. I haven't had a distress call yet so i am assuming all is still well. I had a lovely uninterrupted sleep-in this morning, then went and did some grocery shopping. I have absolutely nothing else planned for the rest of the afternoon. Ahhhh.....Bliss.

Two Days in Sydney

Woah..i am SO buggered LOL.... I had a fan-bloody-tastic time though. Met all (well most) of my giddy's from EB DEC04 group. i have not stayed up as late or talked as much as i did on sat night in a LONG time. I was up at 4am on sat morning to get to the airport. I made it with plenty of time to spare despite doing 3 U-turns in the rain to find the damn overnight parking place. Flight arrived in Sydney right on time. Much nicer flight in than the last time i went. Because it was daytime i could actually see Sydney as we were coming in. And it was much smoother as well, hardly any turbulence. Got picked up from the airport by Leoni and had a great chat the whole way to the house.
And my lord what a house *drool*, no words can describe how gorgeous the views from that house were...right over the bay...

Anyway, i won't bore you all with the mundane details of the weekend. A lot of it falls into the "you had to be there" categories LOL, so I'll just show a few photos and be done with it i think.
The girls, and the view from the house.

Tagged

Ok i was tagged by Adriana

6 weird things about me..

1. I love sour cream in extreme amounts on my potatoes. (this was actually Adriana's first answer but i thought it applied to me too, so i stole it LOL)

2. When i sit down in a restaurant i always swap the knife and fork position. Because that's just how i hold them.

3. I am a total sticky beak. I use to go to real estate "open houses" just so i could see how other people lived. Until Luke stopped me because apparently that's creepy...

4. I still have my "blankie" from when i was a baby.

5. I get claustrophobic in lifts, and i am kinda scared of possums. (ok so make that REALLY scared of possums...)

6. I talk to myself... rather frequently actually. Especially when i am driving.

I tag Dannii, Amanda, Dee, and Elizabeth.... because i can't think of anyone else off the top of my head  that reads this LOL...

How about we have a bit of a de-lurk session. All the lurkers send me a comment and come out of hiding... this blog averages 75 visits per day so i know you're out there LOL...
