Change of pace

I have been feeling really run down, and dare i say depressed, lately. I don't know what has been causing it, whether it's stress hormones or boredom with life in general, but i have just been feeling really blah. I have no motivation to do anything, i just want to lay in bed all day. I have had several nanna-naps over the past week during the day and i just feel flat.

I am contemplating having some blood tests done to determine whether it is low iron or something i am lacking vitamin wise that is causing it. I have been feeling like this for a few months now on and off, but this past fortnight it has gotten progressively worse.

Anyway, i decided to give myself a break yesterday from all commitments i have, both scrapping and photography, and did something just for me. Just because i wanted to. Not for anyone else, and i had no expectations of it needing to be perfect or for it to serve any purpose other than giving me something to do for the afternoon.

So this is what i did.

I have two more canvases of the same size left, and i plan on doing some more of these quick little paintings over the next few days. Not perfect my any means but it feels nice to do them. Takes me back to my old art school days LOL.

But that was yesterday, today i have to catch up on proofing my last photo session and i also need to get started on some Blue Bazaar DT stuff. It's a little Christmas project that will be available as a kit and class. I have ideas bursting out of my ears for this little guy and i received all the materials today so i am keen to get started.

Prints now available

Ok i finally got around to scanning and uploading some of the collages i created for the exhibition i was in earlier in the year. Stoopid me didn't scan all of them before the show, so i can't offer you prints of the collages that sold. But a few of the ones that didn't sell are now available for you to have printed onto greeting cards through Red Bubble. My profile is here, and there is also now a link to my profile in the side bar of this blog. They are only about $4 a card and great quality.

oh and in other news, i am in internet heaven after finally installing Broadband connection to my puta last night. I can't believe i lasted so long with dodgy-dial-up LOL... so i'll be zooming through all my internet related tasks now and might even have enough time to visit the blogs of everyone who visits me LOL

We interrupt our normal programing ...

...to tell you all about these gorgeous prints available in Etsy. They were created by the gorgeously talented illustrator Mandy.
Ava_with_wings
This is by far my favourite, it reminds me so much of Charlee. But they were actually inspired by the beautiful daughter of photographer Sheye Rosemeyer, Ava, who sadly passed away last year in a tragic accident. If you would like to support their cause then i greatly recommend purchasing one of these prints from her for your little girl's room (or if you don't have one then a friends little girl).
I am waiting patiently for some funds to transfer over to my paypal account (stoopid 5-7 working days delay) before i order this little beauty. There is only one left in this design but i am hoping to all hope that if i don't catch this one she restocks them soon. There are five different illustrations in the Super Princess collection. Go get one now...go on...off you go...

Gallery Photos

I took these the other night at the opening, and i've just had the chance to look at them. The lighting was pretty bad for photography, no natural light because it was at about 6pm LOL...but you get the idea.
Here is some of my stuff...

I'm manning the gallery with mum tomorrow afternoon if you want to pop in. From 12-5:30 i think it is. The gallery details are a few posts down. Off to spend some of my birthday gift vouchers today. Yippee! I love shopping so much more when i'm not spending my own money LOL...

A new top, some rain and a gallery opening..

My goodness we had some rain today here in Melbourne! It has been bucketing down all day. The back of our house began to flood because the gutters were blocked, and the backyard is under about 5 inches of water...

The kids thought it would be a fan-tab-ulous time to test out their new umbrellas. So in true paparazzi style i shoved them both outside in sub zero temperatures for the perfect photo opportunity.

I made the green top Charlee is wearing this morning too. You can't really see much detail but it's kind of a half shirt. The buttons only go half way down. The fabric was some sweet vintage floral cotton i got off Ebay recently.

OK enough photos for now. I had the big gallery opening tonight. It actually went really well despite the terrible weather. I even managed to sell 6 of my works which i was totally stoked about. It'll be interesting to see how many more i sell in the next few weeks. How awesome would it be if i didn't have to bring any of them home with me?? It's be great to find happy homes for them all, i certainly have nowhere to hang them here LOL ....

I also got an email from SC mag the other day confirming that i was definitely a runner up in the color comp and that my prize will be sent off soon. I was beginning to think that i was all a big joke, so it was nice to actually hear from the magazine that i won. Can't wait to see what i get...i can't even imagine what $700 worth of scrapping product even looks like tee-hee..

Anyway, i have been scrapping, but it's mostly DT stuff so i can't show any of it for another week and a bit. Got some super cool things happening this month, and some news that i am itching to tell but can't...

Just in case you missed it first time around...

Happy Birthday to me for tomorrow. :)

I know I know, where do i find the time??

Well i just do ok PMSL... Anyway, i have been designing some digital Scrapbooking kits lately. I have actually been messing around with making digital papers since the SM Masters comp last year (That was my "special technique" which was one of the requirements). I originally intended them for my own use to print off and use in paper layouts. And i quite like the idea that you don't need to be a digi scrapper to use digital papers.

So anyway, a few people have seen them and quite like them so they will soon be available for download and purchase. I will let you know where and when closer to the release date, but for now here are a few sneak peeks of the two kits.

(ETA: My new banner (look up ^^^^) was made using stuff from the Charllee Collection pack)

The Charlee Collection: will be available for free download because i have used brushes to make the papers that were not designed by me so i am unable to sell it.

The Lila Collection: You will be able to purchase this for a VERY small fee.

So there you go, something to look forward too.

Art and other nonsence

Well i think i may have won $700 in scrapbooking supplies...i have unconfirmed reports from various people that i was one of five runners up in the Scrapbook Creations Color Comp. I however haven't heard officially from the mag so I'm not 100% sure if that is true. A few friends that attended the Brisbane Paper craft festival said they saw with their own peepers that mine was one of the runners up...so if i did then whoo-hoo! If i didn't then Doh!  LOL... Where the heck am i going to put $700 worth of scrapping supplies is my next dilemma, but i will tackle that problem when it arises....

Here are a few pieces of art that i promised i would show. These will be on display in the exhibition in a few weeks.

New Collage

Here. Feeling much better today. Apparently i wasn't dying after all....

Not much else to say, back with more tomorrow :)

New collages

Two new collages ready for the show. You can see them here and here. At this rate I'm gonna have way to many to display, but it's better to have enough to pick and choose from, then not enough at all i suppose.

Took the kids swimming again this morning. Koby was a little uncooperative, but Miss C loved it. She didn't want to get out!

Other than that, not much happening.

P.S: Elizabeth, you have a letter heading your way hun ;)
