day 30: first day

He did it. We did it. He walked in through the doors with his head high and didn't look back. I dropped him off without crying and embarrassing everyone. He had a great time. He said he fell over once (but didn't cry...not even a little). None of the bigger kids spoke to him (which he thought was kinda rude), completed 4 drawings, learned 2 new games and ate all his lunch.

I am so proud..and relieved to have him home safely. I was such a nervous wreck when i went shopping this morning that i locked my keys in the car and had to call the RACV to rescue me. Charlee did well at Kinder. The big test for her will be on friday when i leave her on her own, but today she went pretty well. She didn't like it when the other kids tried to play with something she had first, and refused to go in the house corner because there was another little boy there. But overall she did ok.

after all that mummy needs a good tall glass of Balies and a lie down....

day 29: puddles

step one: fill up dog bowl with water & empty water onto ground
step two: mush water into mud
step three: splash
step four: look completely inconspicuous and innocent....

pssst...one more sleep until the big school day...i'll let you know how it all goes tomorrow *breath in 2...3...breath out..2...3...*

day 28

Thank you all so much for the comments to my last post. It felt good to get some of those thoughts out of my head and down on "paper" so to speak. And it's reassuring to hear from others dealing with the same thing and also the teachers point of view. I am feeling ok about it now. I have decided to just forget about how i feel and be excited for him and make it a really happy new time. Hopefully if i "fake" those happy feelings enough i will trick myself into thinking i'm really ok with it LOL.

The kids spent today at grandma's, hence the photos of Buffy. She is such a sweet pussy cat. She follows me around the house constantly and as soon as i sit down on the couch she will wander over and join me. If i go into the kids rooms to tidy up she will follow. If i go to my room to fold washing she will follow.  She is constantly under my feet, but i'm so use to it that i barely notice anymore. Koby is her second favourite person in the world. Every morning she will go into his room and snuggle with him in bed. Or she'll sit on him on the couch, when he plays his PS2 she comes and sits on his lap until she gets sick of being unintentionally whacked in the head by the controller and an enthusiastic move.

Charlee and Buffy have a rocky relationship. Buffy like Charlee but has scratched her (by accident mostly) too many times and Charlee doesn't understand that she is just trying to play. So she'll avoid her like the plague and shove her out the way whenever she gets too near LOL. Luke who is not a cat person has even been busted having a snuggle on the couch watching TV many-a-time.

just having a quiet day at home tomorrow before everything goes crazy on Wednesday. I've been doing some scrapping for Scrapniques and also BB, but you'll have to wait to see them. And i have also been busy making this little guy and a card for my buddy Suz who had another little girl a few days back.

He's all done now and will be posted in the next few days.

ok ok i cheated again LOL...these were taken yesterday, but it's too hot to open up the house to let in enough light today and i'm feeling very lazy, so this will do...

day 25: guitar hero

for a five-and-a-half year old he is surprisingly good at this game. It's his and Lukes latest obsession.

day 24: simple things

the girl wanted to come home but the boy didn't....he'll be home after tea apparently...so i made the most of the girl while she was sitting eating popcorn and watching play school...

day 23: The Gardens

we met up with a friend of mine (Naomi) the other day at the Botanical Gardens. We got to hang out with her kids (and niece) and wander around taking photos. It was a lovely way to spend the day. Naomi was down from Broken Hill for a wedding. This is my two hanging out under a hug fig tree. Here's a few more shots...i didn't take that many photos surprisingly...too busy gas-bagging about lenses and RAW processing LOL.

And Naomi's niece Sophie...whom my kids ADORED...she did a wonderful job of occupying them with chasey and hide and seek while we were too busy chatting to supervise...ok that sounds horrible, we were watching too of course, except when we were busy comparing the 5D to the 40D...

and a few more of my two...koby was too busy hitting random things with sticks to stand still long enough for a decent shot though, so they are mostly you-know-who..

Me and Luke had a date last night, we went and saw Cloverfield. Fantastic movie...a few bits were a bit stoopid (um hello...it's about a giant monster attacking Manhattan...what's not stoopid about that???) and we both agreed that it needed a bit more explaining of certain parts, but it was made really well, it was actually pretty funny in some parts and well worth the trip to the movies.

day 22: friends
